Suggestions Needed for Investing 20K S&S ISA, Is it right time to start investing?

iWeb's £25 setup charge does not come from your ISA allowance it is collected from your bank account. It does not show on your new ISA account transaction history as either a contribution or an opposite charge. This is why you would then be allowed to contribute the full £20k. As such you could open an iWeb ISA, then ask them to transfer in a previous tax year ISA and still be able to contribute into a current tax year S&S ISA elsewhere.
Any trade fees you incur in either an iWeb or HL ISA account would come from the ISA account (for which new contributions are limited by the annual allowance).
As eskbanker details you have the option of HL collecting their ongoing % charge from a non-ISA account. iWeb don't offer this because they don't have any ongoing charge for their ISA.
On iWeb we just invest all the money leaving £0 cash balance. If you need to sell anything that's fine as the £5 is deducted from the proceeds from sale. On HL you would want to leave a cash balance to pay the ongoing fees unless you have arranged for them to be paid out of another account. HL charge £1.50 each time if they need to sell exchange tradable assets to cover account fees. I don't consider it good practice to leave no cash and let them sell down fund units regardless of their valuation.0 -

Just getting myself with the iWeb platform, few more queries for the Iweb platform users. In the Valuation & Statements > ValuationValuation as at 11:54 on 11/11/2020The average cost per share figure calculated includes all associated dealing costs
- The latest price is a fifteen minute delayed mid price. All non-UK currencies have been converted to sterling by an indicative foreign exchange rate
On hitting the refresh button iWeb platform is changing the valuation time but the latest price is not changing.or they update the latest price only at end of the day. Thanks is advance.0 -
Sometimes prices don't move. As there's been no trades.0

Very strange, approx 1:45 hrs before market closes and the latest price has not been updated. I think they are still quoting yesterdays closing price.Thrugelmir said:Sometimes prices don't move. Issues with our price feed - We are experiencing an issue with our data supplier which means that yesterday's closing price is showing in valuations and on the Research Centre. All trades are going through normally.
We are working closely with our supplier to fix this issue as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.

X-O portfolio data isn't updating either now. Was fine all this morning. Though the quoted spreads on some shares have been extremely wide today. Another exceptionally busy day I'd say. Systems are probably working overtime and struggling to keep up.mazibee said:
