EON smart meter

Had a letter today from EON who supply our electric and gas. The letter says it wants to instal smart meters as part of a "government led national upgrade". Has anyone else had one of these letters? The main thing worrying me, is that we are in the middle of a pandemic, we are isolating as much as possible and they reckon…

The target was set by Ofgem for completion of the entire programme by mid 2021, which obviously isn't going to happen. However, it was up to the individual suppliers to set their own annual install targets, which were then monitored by the regulator.
