How best to convert Yen to GBP?

Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but none of the other boards seem to fit...
Long story short, my wife has a fairly large amount of (actual, physical) Japanese Yen that we'd like to convert to GBP. What's the best way to do that?
Slightly longer version - it used to be a huge pain to transfer money from japanese bank accounts to foreign ones, so she took all her savings out as cash and brought them to the UK (~£20k worth). Ideally, i'd like to take them somewhere and get the GBP deposited straight into my UK bank account, but I have no idea if there's any place that will do that or if it would have any tax implications...
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers

No, no tax implications.

You could try https://www.coventgardenfx.com/ or https://www.thomasexchangeglobal.co.uk/ if there's a convenient office for you.
That is a significant amount of cash though and has money laundering written all over it (I'm not saying that it is ML, just that it will look like it). Expect to be required to document where it came from. It might be useful if you have statements from your wife's JPY account showing the cash withdrawals.1
