I am in the process to move house to slightly remote area. So looking to see which Hub got the best WiFi coverage. Talked to BT and they claim they have best WiFi hub that can cover bigger homes. Tempted towards that, I saw Fibre Essential & Fibre 1 gives same download speed range but Price different..? Any idea why..? Hub is different..?? I Can't get any higher speed than Fibre-1 due to location. How long normally BT takes to setup connection..? It may vary depends on location but just want to see how much time it takes.

Wifi is dependent on factors in the home. The hub may provide the best Wifi coverage in most circumstances but if you happen to put it in a location where the userbase is on the other side of a brick wall, it will struggle to penetrate it. Provider won't guarantee internal wifi speeds or connection quality.

for my area both shows same estimated speed as my area is slightly away from exchange. So the question is have is there any difference in device as estimated speed for both are the same (21Mb - 36Mb download speed range, Stay Fast Guarantee 17Mb, Upload speed range 5Mb - 7Mb) Any point in paying high for (£2) only for going with Fibre-1. I have seen advts abt BT Smart Hub 2 & Smart Hub. That device is same or Fibre Essential & Fibre 1 or Fibre 1 get better device..?0

Look at BT offers e.g. pre-paid Mastercard and cashback sites such as Topcashback/Quidco. Go with the best deal and consider other providers including what other BT brands such as Plusnet / EE offer.1 -
Get a mesh wifi system and the broadbands provider's hub becomes irrelevant.1

I've got both a Smart Hub and a Smart Hub 2. IMO the SM is better than the SM2 - especially insofar as you can give a different name to the 2.4gz and 5gz wifi.
I don't need disks and get a decent 5ghz signal all over my 140m2 bungalow but some of my stuff just wont connect to 5gz and will only link to 2,4gz when I've tried to use the SM2, so it's back in the cupboard and the SM is back in serviceNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
Ok. Thanks I got SH-2, as you said option to put different names not there which was there in previous BB.Thanks,0
