DOB dilemma
I was born abroad and came to the UK as a young child. When I arrived, my father registered me with the school and GP under the DOB of 12/09. Unknown to me the DOB on my passport was 22/09.
Anyway, as a child I always assumed by dOB to be 12/09 and ran with that through school etc. Then I got my diving license and passed my test under 12/09.
It wasnt until I was in my mid 20s that I took notice of this disparity. When I wrote to the passport office to ask them if it was possible to change dob they refused. So I have been running with all my education records, insurance records, driving license etc with dob of 12/09. But my passport has dob of 22/09. This has not caused many problems but now I may have to change my address on the driving license. But if I do that then they will do a check and try to match the details with the passport which could mean that they may withdraw the driving license saying that I cannot prove my identity!!
How do I get out of this mess??

What date of birth does your birth certificate give? If the passport is correct would it not be better to change the dates to that? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

What documentation do you have from the country of your birth?
Is your passport UK, or is it issued by your previous home country?0 -
ETA - google seems to show that if you can prove the date of birth on your UK passport is incorrect it can be changed in some circumstances. But not just by asking them. You will need to evidence what date of 12th September is the correct one.

I'd guess DVLA would probably accept that the passport data is correct. The opposite would not apply.

I arrived in the UK on a passport that had 22/09 dob and subsequently I was naturalised to British nationality with the same date. I have already asked passport office if dob can be changed, they said only if there was a typo mistake. The other option is to talk to DVLA but I am afraid that they may go heavy-handed and withdraw my license.[When I was born there was no birth registeration because of political issues; it came 12 yrs later. I did manage to obtain a birth certificate from teher soem timee ago but they would only rregister me under 22/09 what was showing on my original and British passport.]0

If you have a birth certificate and a passport both with the 22/09 as your date of birth then there is no chance of getting this changed. You're going to have to get the driving licence changed to match. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Your original passport said 22nd Sept. Your current passport takes that same date.
I think it's going to be a serious uphill struggle to convince anybody that 12th is the correct date... Just accept that it's 22nd, for all official purposes. You can have your birthday party whenever you wish...0 -
Do you get two lots of birthday presents every year?A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
I am not bothered about birthday parties etc. The problem is that I still have the old style driving license (without photo) whih has dob of 12/09. Sooner or later I am going to move house and will need to inform the DVLA about change of address. This will automatically trigger an application for a photo license which means they will check my details/photo against my passport. And I fear that when they see 2 dob they might think I am a fake person and withdraw the license.

So what documents did you use to get your licence in the first place - didn't they need proof of ID then? Ditto bank accounts etc?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
