And which would have been refunded to him immediately under the DD guarantee.
Can't quite see how the OP giving out his account no. and sort code thinks that it puts him in danger of physical violence from the defendant though? Asking for a cheque means that he has already given them a postal address to send it to.

Sounds like you're the childish one.

I can imagine why the garage got awkward in the first place.  My bet is you're one of "those" customers.

If giving them the chance to rectify their work 6 times before asking for my money back makes me one of those customers then sure I am. Wouldn't mind but it was springs and dampers which isn't a hard job to do but they fitted the wrong parts multiple times and top mounts with seized bearings. As mentioned I went to a nearby more glossy garage as the broken road spring was fouling the tyre so couldn't drive it to the back street garage have used since I could drive. Never had to resort to this is over 20 years of motoring.
