Hinged shower door opening angle

  • Could you have a fixed shower screen rather than a hinged one? Much easier to clean too!
  • If anyone is interesting in the resolution to my question...  It turns out that almost all shower door hinges only open to 90 degrees.  So I happily ordered my shower door.

It fits and looks lovely, but ironically the issue now is that the 90 degree opening is not actually ideal!  There was a good 20cm of space between the fully open door and the toilet, and it was a teeny bit awkward getting into the shower due to the heated towel rail.  So I scoured the internet and found some German shower hinges that open to 180 degrees and miraculously fit the holes in the shower door and fixed panel perfectly.  They arrived today and have been duly fitted.  The door now opens much further and the edge of the door does hit right in the middle of the toilet pan.  Fortunately, the edge of the door is fairly well padded by the door seal so I'm not too worried, but I'm looking into a tall doorstop we can screw into the floor
