3rd party phone contracts
Options
Hi, are 3rd party phone contracts any good because I'm into my 3rd year on my phone with was a 2yr deal and now taken up a sim only deal which is cheaper as,at the time,my phone was in good condition and working fine but now I've started to experience problems with the phone,(incoming and outgoing calls and the battery). I've spoken to my provider and they want £53 to cancel the contract early (but it's not my fault) and said that 3rd party phone deals are not safe. Can someone bring some light to this.

I've seen a cheaper deal via 3rd party that my phone provider isn't willing to compete with. Can someone help me with this please.0

WHY CANCEL USE YOUR SIM IN ANOTHER PHONE .Contract is for network not phone ,0

Your post makes no sense. You appear to have completed the original phone + SIM contract and moved to SIM only.
You do not have to take out a new contract in order to obtain a replacement phone. The phone + SIM contracts are just another way of buying a phone on finance.0 -
You can ignore your provider's (or rather one of their CS agent's) advice, there's nothing particularly unsafe about third party phone contract vendors.
Also there's no question of any 'fault' involved in having to abide by the terms of a phone contract, such as early termination fee.
If you need a new handset just buy the one you want SIM-free at the best price you can find independently and insert the SIM you are already using on your current contract.Evolution, not revolution0 -
They're just trying to tie you in to a new deal - if it's an ok deal, then no reason not to, bt there are plenty of providers out there - I've used loads over the years - I tend to avoid cash back redemption contracts though because they can be a hassle if you're not disciplined. Decent phones are affordable nowadays - I tend to buy a handset sim free nowadays and choose a sim deal to suit me0
