CEDR and Virgin Mobile

I wonder if anyone else has experienced a similar problem.

I had a dispute with Virgin Mobile. We could not come to an agreement and there was an offer to use arbitration with CEDR. So I opened a case. CEDR agreed to take it on and ruled in my favour. VM accepted the decision and agreed to pay compensation, which was due to arrive in four weeks. Nothing received. So I reopened the case with CEDR. Once again, they ruled in my favour. Once again, VM accepted the ruling. Once again, VM did nothing.

It is with CEDR again though this time it has gone very quiet.
Why would VM offer an arbitration service via CEDR and accept the result if they have no intention of actually doing something? It is a waste of their time. I can see that CEDR get some business and employ a few people to go through the charade but it must a bit soul destroying of making decisions which are ignored.

Has anyone else had success with arbitration at Virgin Media?

  • From the lack of replies I am guessing the answer is No.
Interestingly, that post moved things forward. Virgin Media asked for my bank account details - the same bank account details they have had for 20 years. I provided them, CEDR updated to say that Virgin Media had posted to say they had authorised a payment. And since then nothing. Virgin Media just seem to be very determined to not pay despite saying that they agree to compensation. They seem to hope everything will just drift away. What a strange approach to customer care.
  • Send a letter before action and then smalls claims court and make an official complaint to vm amd then complain to the communication ombudsman
