Thanks for all the reply's guys. I have forwarded the email to CitiBank fraud dept.
As to how they got my details? I simply don't know, I have been looking at investments lately on google, so can only assume that was their way in.
It is quite scary, the brochure attached to to email was very professional looking & convincing, but I did suspect & your replies have confirmed my suspicions.
He is calling me back this afternoon, could be an interesting 'phone call.
    Sincere thanks to you all
They can't get your email address and phone number if you were just "looking" on Google; you must have given them this information in some way.

When he calls back I suggest that you tell him in sombre tones that you are your son and that you're sorry to tell him that you've died during the day. That should stop him phoning back.

    You're welcome.  😁

Or have a bit of fun seeing how much of their time you can waste.

I kept one fake Amazon scammer on the phone for 30 minutes as my internet was slow, my hearing not great and my computer was playing up. :)
Above all, remember this is a scam, and do not reveal ANY genuine details about yourself or your accounts, and don't be afraid to just hang up if the conversation is going in a direction you don't like.

Might cause the scammer to clone your identity creating more grief to untangle.

If someone has personal details on you I would avoid upsetting them. Of course you could say that you've tried to access your funds in readiness for this investment and found you've got nothing left as you'd invested in a scammers fake pension fund and can't believe who would do such a thing.

Typically they will get the director's email address of a reputable company, change one letter, name looks the same but spelt slightly differently, and register that email address themselves.  So, unless you carefully check every letter and number, the scammers email address looks the same as the genuine one.

In a similar vein , see this from the ( genuine )  Fidelity website

We have been made aware of recent fraudulent activity, intended to impersonate Fidelity International and encourage people into making false investments. Our Fraud Prevention team is working with the relevant authorities to address this as a priority.

This is based upon the fraudulent use of the Fidelity International name and brand to promote a ‘Fixed Interest Investment ISA Bond’ scam, which claims to offer returns of 2.75% - 5.75% with a minimum initial investment of £15,000. Fidelity International does not offer these products.

Switch on the news. Is there anything about MSE Towers being destroyed by a blast from the server room? No? Then it's a scam because that's what would happen if this offer was genuine.

I'm just reading the Daily Mail headlines and one of them is: "MSE Towers destroyed by benefit sponging immigrant terrorists"
