Can you show us a pic of your waste pipe ?0

Depending on the hardness of your water, a single pod could be too much or too little detergent. They tend to be designed around the needs of a reasonably hard water supply (as are the manufacturer recommendations).Jonathan_Powell said:We use the liquid pods when doing washing.0 -

I’ve just found this post and it’s reminded me that my Beko washing machine could do with a clean (EcoCare WMA 10W).
I moved in around two years ago and the machine came this the house which is ex rental.
Doubt it’s ever had a cleaning cycle. Have cleaned out the pump filter though.
Bought some Dettol 5 in 1 cleaning liquid but the WM manual states not to put liquid in the detergent draw, only powder. Use a dose ball instead, which is what I do.
Looking at the cleaner instructions, that’s not going to work.
Maybe should swap it for a powder cleaner instead.
Any help appreciated.0 -
The Dettol website indicates that you put it in the detergent drawer - so that's what I'd do, I'd ignore the manufacturers instructions. What do they suggest for fabric conditioner which is liquid?danrv said:I’ve just found this post and it’s reminded me that my Beko washing machine could do with a clean (EcoCare WMA 10W).

It’s ok.
I have some powder detergent so can run the maintenance wash as per the manual.
Might change the Dettol to the Dr. Beckmann one.

Thanks. I think fabric conditioner is ok. It suggests that goes in the LH compartment of the draw.Emmia said:The Dettol website indicates that you put it in the detergent drawer - so that's what I'd do, I'd ignore the manufacturers instructions. Main wash detergent in the middle but a bit confused about the RH one.
It says that’s for pre wash cycle detergent.
I assume that all the programs run a pre wash cycle but don’t usually put any in that one.0 -

I wouldn't be so sure. I think the pre-wash is precisely for that: soaking before washing, and you need to programme for that otherwise the programme will start straight in on the wash cycle.danrv said:

The smell happens on almost all new washers since they now are only cold fill machines. The best way is to run a very hot wash with nothing in and use bleach or vinegar in it.Washing on low temp or short cycles is not sufficient to remove scum and other build up.this is the cobsciquence of cold fill only machines these days0
