Jack's Flight Club hidden subscription scam?

  • No problems with contact at all - they answer my queries within 24 hrs at most and are very helpful. Everything is up front with them and they even remind me of any renewals. Are you sure this is the same site?
  • There is a SERIOUS problem with how this "club" operates. I took up a £1 black friday deal. I was later charged the full subscription amount WITHOUT EMAIL NOTIFICATION and the DEFAULT ACCOUNT SETTING is OFF they just merrily collect the money until you realise the payment appears on a statement, and by then THEIR 14 days terms for cancellation have expired. Not being alerted by the people collecting money automatically is wrong. A lot os "savings" clubs operating in this way and it is time they were shut down or taken to task about their policies.

Do you have a copy of the deal terms?

I’ve just looked at their website and tbh it’s one of the more transparent sites around. Apart from anything else there isn’t any obligation to sign up for the premium subscription. The help page clearly explains the policy in relation to refunds/pro rata refunds, free trial cancellation policy and auto renewals.

It explains how to cancel membership within the members login page and there is a contact form, live chat and an email address which they say should be picked up within a few hours, which has been confirmed by a poster above.

Auto renewal after a free trial is very common with things like TV subscription services like Prime (in fact most online services) so no-one should be surprised.

I’m struggling to understand how this could be called a scam. Everything is quite clearly explained?

I've just taken a quick look and totally agree.

    JFC have even addressed that.
    From FAQs:
If your upgrade was done with a credit card and you'd like to cancel your Premium membership because you don't want to run the risk of an auto-renewal we have an option to receive a subscription reminder which you can set up by following the steps on this page

As per the other replies up-thread from regular posters, there is no scam here (just like almost all the other threads that say "scam").
