Amazon refusing refund

I ordered a PS4 Game but I received the wrong PS4 game and made Amazon aware of this and they asked me to send the item back which I done and provided proof of
postage.
A few weeks had passed and I had still not heard anything from Amazon regarding this refund and I got an email from their "Account Specialist Team" claiming the following
"Our returns department advised us that they received wrong item. We are discarding the incorrect item that you sent."
I have sent an email to their complaints department and resolution centre explaining that I received the wrong game and made them aware of my intention to return the item which cost me £49 and I paid them via my credit card. The response I get from Amazon is the exact same claiming they can't process the refund as I sent the wrong item back when they sent me the wrong item to begin with. I'm honestly confused on what to do as I feel like I have exhausted all my options. The seller was Amazon and fulfilled by Amazon. I am hoping someone can help guide me regarding this as the only option I can see is filing a charge back request through my credit card as the value is less than £100
postage.

Which was the answer . You should have continued in your original thread , not start a new one

I added more information near the end in this post and okay, but my point still stands that I had no response regarding my question but rather it went off topic so it's not a case of me not agreeing with the original points but rather them not answering itBrowntoa said:Which was the answer . I wouldn't be posting here if I hadn't already spoken to every customer service option with Amazon, whenever I speak to someone they say they'll investigate it internally and to wait 24 to 48 hours for a response and every response is the same saying that returns department informed us that we received the incorrect item back when I told Amazon that they sent me the wrong game and I sent them all this information but they keep ignoring meBrowntoa said:
Is your answer , as per Amazon's own help sectionGreatgimp said:Speak to someone:0800 279 72340 -
Why would you expect random forum users to know better than Amazon .Nobody has to give you a response or even a response you agree with ,its a users forum not a paid for legal service .1
