Actually that's a good point but I am wary about that fake number.  Anyone fancy ringing it tomorrow and saying they want to pay a PCN?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    I tried yesterday.

According to a posting on digitalspy forum
All telephone numbers between 0808 157 0000 to 0808 157 0999 are reserved for use in fictional drama, because there will always be some muppet who phones them.

    Seems plausible.

Just dialed the number ... " sorry you have dialed an incorrect number"

I would take the sign down and see if the scammer comes knocking

I think Half_way has the right advice on this. If the sign keeps away fly-parkers, there won't be the need for a real sign to be placed there!

No one is coming to any harm at the moment.

No different to putting up a sign that says you will be clamped if you park here, or no turning, no junk mail etc.hopefully it will deter people but its not gaurenteed and holds no water.

Next level enforcement. Seems like PAS 232 missed out on it.
