SCS Carpet

I purchased two carpets at the start of August with SCS for fitting at the start of September. When the day came to fit the carpets they rang and said they had the carpet ready to fit. We told them there should be two. They went to investigate and said they now wouldn’t be able to fit it until the next day as they had only collected one. They came to fit them the next day and the carpets had been cut to the wrong rooms. The offered £60 to fit them as they are but we declined as it didn’t match the interior and wasn’t what we paid for. They fitted one as there was excess, due to it being sized for the wrong room (their fault not ours) and said we would hear within the week when we would be getting the other one fitted. A week came and went and we heard nothing. We then went to SCS and explained the situation and they booked us in for two weeks later. Two days before the new fitting date they rang to say they no longer had the carpet in stock and therefore were unable to fit it and would ring us with an update. We never heard anything and after countless calls and email we were being ignored. We then went to SCS again and they said they thought they’d contacted us and arranged a new date, they had not. A new date was arranged again (23rd October). They rang on the 22nd and said they had our carpet and it was already to go the next day. On the morning of the 23rd they then rang again and said they hadn’t checked the carpet and it was the wrong one again (completely wrong, not even one of the two we first ordered). They said they would chase it up and ring us later with an update either way. We never heard anything. This morning I rang and again didn’t get any answer. What can I now do moving forward? They’ve  had our money for approaching three months but we are yet to receive and goods for that money.

    Cancel the order for a refund .

    Cancel and find a local independent carpet retailer.  You will get better service and they may well be cheaper.

    You've had one of the two carpets fitted? As others have said, cancel the outstanding one for a refund and get an independent to supply and fit it. 

    Ideally you paid on a credit card, so can raise a claim with the credit card company if they are unwilling to cancel the remaining part of the order.
