laminate on stairs

These comments are just silly. Majority of the world does not carpet their staircases. This is a uniquely british thing. Just don't cover the stairs with banana peels and you'll be fine. What an irrational fear of non-carpeted stairs.0

Laminate stairs would be a no-go for us as we have a dog who is allowed upstairs - I have no wish to pay for his hip replacements and broken legs.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

Having taken the stairs too quick on numerous occasions over the years, as I assume most do occasionally, I know which type of stair I'd prefer to land on, and it's not laminate.0

I'm entirely baffled by these responses. I grew up in Sweden where no one has carpeted stairs and most people have wood or laminate. I grew up in a house with wooden stairs. I've never heard of these freak accidents were dogs end with broken hips and people keep slipping in the stairs. This is one of the oddest cultural things I've come across in this country. Never have I ever considered people being this scared of stairs. I thought people fit carpet on stairs because it is cheaper.1
