Silverbird65 said:This is my 71 yr old sister sorry. I have tried to get her on to internet but she won't. She uses the phone and is at her wits end. I just wish I could sort it for her. I am currently trying to get her to change. She is worried she won't get back all the money they owe her it's disgusting.
Thank youSilverbird65, ask your sister to join the BG Priority Services Register (tel: 0800 0728 625) and tell them that she wishes to nominate you to speak to on her behalf.(By the way, you can do this with all utility companies not just BG)Hope this helps

Thanks Hasbeen for your comment I find the forum difficult to master. Sorry if I offended Louise Loxham.

British Gas - makes me ashamed to be British, I have had issues with my bills for some time, I live in a modest 3 bedroom semidetached bungalow with gas central heating and a gas hob. My electric bills alone have crept up over the £2000.00 per year mark, I did complain twice before about my bill once in 1999 when I was told to turn off all my electric at the fuse board and if the wheel was still spinning I had an issue, the second around 5 years ago when they advised me to change my tariff.
I decided to ring again and this time got them to actually check my meter, the chap came to my house on 5th October and tested it, turns out that it was over registering by 1.855% on a low load and 4.355% on a load higher than 2Kw, fine I thought at least I should get some recompense. Fast forward 3 weeks, my meters were read as they always are quarterly and I received a bill for £908.00 for the summer quarter, no problem I thought as they had agreed my meter was faulty it should get sorted out.Nothing happened, I had to chase the company who said that the paperwork had not been followed up on but don’t worry, I then received a bill for £932.16 an increase from the original, I was incensed I rang to complain but they did not want to listen they just told me we are in deadlock and suggested I went to the energy ombudsman.
British Gas are an absolute joke and they are putting me through hell.0 -
