Over 40 and wanting to Transfer a LISA
Comments

Just to confirm today (22nd January) was the first day able to pay into my new LISA with EQi. I received a letter in today's post from my Building Society who I had opened a Cash LISA with (before turning 40), saying a cheque with my balance of my cash LISA has been sent to EQi.
I now hold a Stock's and Shares ISA with EQi. The whole process so far has been 24 days, and guess a few more days for the cheque to clear and the funds show.
A big thank you to Alexland, I was almost about to not bother with the LISA as I couldn't find anyone who would take on a transfer for an over 40 year old customer.
The only downside with EQi I have had is calling latter in the day I seem to get a call center in India who are useless for not the normal questions!!! However I can live with this.2 -
It seems Interactive Investor is trying to acquire EQi, so there could be some change to come, unlikely the current pricing will be maintained if the deal goes through.tryingtogetmyheadaround said:The only downside with EQi I have had is calling latter in the day I seem to get a call center in India who are useless for not the normal questions!!! Hi all,
just read this thread with interest. Could you confirm that you can open a S+S LISA despite being over 40 years old so long as the account opens upon transfer of a pre-existing cash LISA/s+s LISA from another LISA provider. When I looked into this last year I had no joy from EQi...see thread..

Yes, EQi has confirmed to me that they accept LISA transfers from those over 40, and someone else has completed such a transfer recently. Suspect you were given incorrect information, or the situation has changed.dwhl said:Hi all,
