Does anyone know somewhere in London where this can be verified for a vaguely sensible fee?
Because of the virus it can also be done online, but most solicitors don't seem to realise this.

I'm not sure whether that used to be acceptable to the Land Registry in the past, but it isn't now - it either has to be a conveyancer or the LR themselves who do it.UnderOffer said:We did ours at the Post Office a few years ago. https://www.postoffice.co.uk/identity/in-branch-verification-service

Oh right, it was our online conveyancer who recommended the PO, this was 2018.0

Think there might be confusion - this is the LR's process for IDing the applicant if you don't have a conveyancer submitting it on your behalf. I'm guessing you're talking about getting ID for your conveyancer's client identification purposes.UnderOffer said:Oh right, it was our online conveyancer who recommended the PO, this was 2018.0 -
I had to download an app from Thirdfort and use that. Expensive but simple to use.0

I know not your area... but if anyone searching for a firm in Leeds, try Karim & Co Solicitors in Leeds LS8, they charged me £30 for the ID1 form. and document certification was £5 per page.
Was mentioned in another thread that the fancy firms charge a lot more, I was quoted £630 + VAT for and ID1 form!
I found that smaller "high street" firms will be cheaper and more approachable... but they usually lack fancy/informative websites

If you are not using a conveyancer for your transaction and need to complete an ID1 form, it might be worth looking at this: https://www.samconveyancing.co.uk/news/conveyancing/land-registry-id1-form-8458
