Now that TC are trading again, what are the chances of getting the £3,700 I’m owed for flight delay compensation in July 2019!?

    Zero, I would think.
The name Thomas Cook was purchased by Fosun, not the debts it collapsed with.

Completely different business, why anyone would think it was a good idea to start a new business with that name is beyond me. They may well spend half their time dealing with old complaints, but if they do they have no one to blame but themselves

The couple that took this business over seem to me to be on the side of the Angels - they re-opened the shops and re-hired many of the staff. Okay they run the risk of fielding many inquiries from the likes of the original poster but need only to draft a master polte reply explaining the rules of capitalism. To the unfortunate Auldy and his/her fellow sufferers I can suggest only the credit card company or travel insurance, unhappily.

You're talking about Hays Travel, who took over the high street retail arm of Thomas Cook.  They've re-branded all the shops as Hays Travel and will continue to trade as such.

Alan is talking about the company (Fosun in China) who bought the rights to the Thomas Cook brand and copyrights including the website address.  They've relaunched the website using the old Thomas Cook brand.  Whether or not it works who knows, but Thomas Cook is the oldest brand in travel, the public have relatively short memories.  They've set up as an online travel agent, so the costs and overheads will be low, especially for a giant like Fosun.

You are correct though, none of this helps the OP, Thomas Cook Airlines Ltd are gone and won't be back, so is the EC261 claim.
  • The OP is gone and wont be back as well, by the looks.
