Thanks for sharing @JaneDoeJohnDoe As a Prime customer since 2012, I'm hoping to get Morrisons via Prime. That way I can ditch my Morrisons elivery pass and hopefully get one from ASDA or just save the money !

Well it must be popular - I can't get a delivery today or tomorrow. I know there's a lockdown on but I've never had this problem since Amazon Prime Now launched in my area.
  • I've been converted to Iceland, which I first thought was just for frozen food, but it does bread and other groceries, milk and other dairy and some decent wines. Their vans have different sections for frozen, chilled and grocery and everything is picked locally and I can always get a slot from my local store for the next day. It's not got a vast range of stuff like the bigger supermarkets, but for the staple store cupboard items it is great.

Before we went organic (more goal than certainty in lockdown) I used Iceland quite a bit and worked out that I saved 14% on Sainsbury's prices. Iceland used to have great prices on wild fish, but most of it comes from China now.

Would recommend their DOP Parmigiano Reggiano and Feta cheeses if your local store still carries them.

They do great offers on Christmas & Easter chocolates, and packed lunch stuff. Before husband developed a gluten intolerance, I would buy party packs of stuff that all cooked at the same temperature. Husband would choose a few, bung in oven, then take to work as a change from sandwiches. Iceland is also husband's family's go to place for party food including cheesecakes and the like.

Still a bit of an Iceland fan.

on the amazon website, there is a category called morrisons. if you click on it and order over £40.00 worth of morrisons food, they will deliver it free of charge, same day delivery. so I did. and it arrived later that afternoon, with two giggling teenage girls driving a fiat 500! the shopping was in bags, which were a bit heavy fior them to lift. so i did it myself. it was fine, and I got everything I ordered.
Just wondering if any one else has used the same service and how it went.

Despite this they got 3 things wrong. One was sending kitten biscuits instead of old cat wet food! Another was they sent handwash refills instead of ones with a pump (I needed the pump). They also sent 5 packs of the same cheese brand instead of the spreadable version. Oh, and becuase they use stupid paper bags and deliver by a non cooled taxi the frozen food they sent was ruined. (becuase it came from a 40 stoore 40 mins away not my local).

Would only use again for non frozen food. Even chilled is going to break paper bags but not as quickly.

I deliver for amazon flex, and we deliver parcels as well as morrisons shopping.

Let me correct you on a few things, we absolutely do use chill bags, the refrigerated and frozen items are in a brown bag, which is in a navy chill bag with packs of ice. The bags are picked up from the store and delivered within 2 hours. We dont carry anything that needs delivering beyond 2 hours.

Your moan about paper bags is a bit confusing, we deliver the bags to your doorstep. I presume amazon use it because they don't want to keep using plastic bags which are non recyclable. You the customer don't want to pay 5p for each bag used? In any case, it's delivered to your doorstep, it's meant to be put in the recycler after youve unpacked. im not sure what the big deal is. Paper bags is an issue for us, so we put the paper bags into our ikea totes when carrying into customers door.

You seem to be nitpicking a bit too much, which makes me question the validity of other claims about poor swaps, thawed frozens etc.

  • we used the Amazon/Morrison's service for the 1st time this week. The first thing I want to say is the online shopping experience is pretty much the same as any other supermarket. So this is all good.
So we did our shopping, got a delivery slot for the same day (great!) and was kept informed about delivery etc (still great!).
Then the shopping arrived....in the boot of a Nissan Micra!
The shopping was packaged up in brown paper bags, so its not possible to see if anything is wrong or damaged etc. So you pretty much have to accept what you get.
I was feeling a little odd about the delivery method, so I put a post out on a local social media platform where I found out that Amazon are using their "Flex" drivers. As I understand it, these are self employed people who are contracted weekly work by Amazon.
I don't really have an issue with this, but as someone who is shopping for a person who is shielding right now, it did make me wonder about how cleanliness is being managed. From the feedback I got (from a driver) it doesn't sound like its Amazons responsibly or Morrison's, so its down to the drivers to do the right thing. This left me feeling a little uncomfortable.
Does anyone know if this is the same everywhere (Im in Suffolk) or maybe its temporary as the service is quite new.
It would be great to see other people experiences.

Mine has always been delivered by a driver in his own car, thats what Amazon have always done for their Fresh deliveries as far as I know.
My drivers have always worn a mask and asked me to step back as they put my bags on the doorstep, not like Tesco, Asda & sainsburys drivers who are taking the crates off you as you finish unpacking them.
Not sure what you mean about cleanliness? How clean the driver is or how clean his car is ? If you mean covid sanitising then its the same as all delivery drivers, its up to them to do the right thing.

I use this service every now and again.
The goods usually arrive in a car, but I've had no issues. They just put the bags on the doorstep for you to pick up, no different to any other type of delivery. If you wash your hands after unpacking I am sure you will be fine.
I know seeing your shopping turn up in a private car is a bit unusual, but that's how they are able to offer same day/next day slots. If you ever order takeaways, they're normally delivered in a private car - this is no different.

I have requested an invitation on Amazon yesterday afternoon. Does anyone have any idea when this will be confirmed? Think the order will be done at the store. Also is there a minimum spend? Have Prime
