If he pays it in 30 days it will be removed from the register and no credit will be trashed

The Court write to the Defendant and Claimant and also notify the Registry Trust, who do put it on straight away. Otherwise it could be seen as disadvantageous to the Defendant if they did not get the Court letter to only receive notification from a CRA (if they have an alert set up) after the 30 day period is up.
People are jumping the gun here as, afaik, no legal proceedings have been issued. The offer of payment has been made, start making payments, and keeping records.
The CCJ would only be done without a Judge if they issue a claim and the offer of payment is done then. If he has offered to pay over a reasonable and pays, then if he issues a defence as disputes the balance as making payments. The Judge could well dismiss the claim because they do not like their time wasted and if the defendant has made a reasonable payment offer and is paying.
Maybe if he offers to pay more, e.g. over six months they may well deem that reasonable.0
