Signed vehicle order form with Arnold Clark help!

Options
So this was my first time ever buying a car usually my ex dealt with the cars. I saw the car I wanted and went to AC to see it I got the car within my budget now this is when I made the mistake! Ask for a test drive but was told I couldn't as it hasnt been through the workshop and if I was to test drive it and there was an issue they would day it could have been me. So he will let me know when I can test drive. We went over the monthly payments the trade in details ect and how much I would be paying a month I was then asked to sign here (thinking I was signing authorisation for the finance my own fault I know !) Wasnt till I got home and looked in my emails that I had indeed signed a service orders form. My question is what if I find issues when I test drive it or what if I'm not comfortable driving it. Can I walk away I've not paid a deposit or signed the finance agreement. I also stupidly took auto care £499 for 2 yrs can this be cancelled? Tia

I would cancel everything and start again - no way should you be paying for 2 years auto care for a car you haven't even test driven and agreed to buy it.  Sounds like they pressured you into everything.  Also I would not buy ANY warranty that states they cover the clutch in their list of items they cover, apart from extended manufacturer's warranty and even then you can bet your house they wont cover it.

What is the car and is it overpriced for the market?
  • Foxy-stoat thanks.  It's a 2017 audi a1 sports hatchback 15000 miles it's a 1.0 engine £12700. I'm worrying because I've signed the vehicle order form is says it's a legally binding document. I will definitely be cancelling the autocare.

Half the posts on these forums might not be needed if people just read what they were signing.  Car dealers are notorious for this and your guard should be up the moment you walk through the door.  Never believe anything a car salesman tells you, never agree to extras and never sign anything until you have read it.

Not a bad car to start with, bit too much money to spend for a first car.

I would be buying a Civic 1.0 for that sort of money over an A1.

If you paid no deposit then there is a case to be argued that no contract has been made.
