Should I book a package holiday for November?

Oh wow. That’s the complete opposite of what I got told - was told that they had amended the schedule but that it was pretty final and very unlikely anything else would change... I’m mentally bracing myself to not be going. Do you think I could just book somewhere else with BA for end of November short notice? I’ve only got that week off. Sorry you’ve rebooked for May. I’m economy only ie WT not WT+minimad1970 said:
The first email was to inform me that my return flight had been changed by one day which I was fine with. I then checked on Manage my booking and found the outbound flight had been cancelled, I don't know what use they thought just having a return flight was. I looked again later and the whole package had been cancelled. I phoned this morning to sort it out and have rebooked for may. The person I spoke to was pretty upfront and said if it was him he wouldn't book for this year and he thinks most if not all the november flights to Cancun will be cancelled. You can still buy flights for some fridays in november, including the 6th, some of the prices for WT+ have doubled and I'm not willing to pay that much more.GarciaLorca said:
This is so strange. My flight on 20th November is still going ahead but they cancelled the return flight on 27th and moved me onto one on the 28th. It looks like they are reducing the weekly flights from three to two. Aren’t you sure they aren’t moving you onto the alternatives flights?minimad1970 said:I've just checked on Manage my booking and our flights to Cancun have now been cancelled. The person I spoke to a few days ago was also very confident, (and said similar things),that our new flights, 17/11-25/11 would go ahead due to the reduction in flights to Cancun. Your flights very well may go ahead if other people that have had flights cancelled choose to rebook for those days. I could've booked the same flights as you're going on but the prices were ridiculous, outbound in WT+ have gone up from £525 to £999, it doesn't seem as though BA are trying to sale the seats at that price. I have no idea what availability BA will have for other places, sorry.GarciaLorca said:

Under 60s are not exempt from carrying or contracting coronavirus. Everyone should be worried about being either a carrier or someone who is infected. Not just the oldies who are catching it and dying. It's crazy to even contemplate travelling right now.Yahoo_Mail said:If you're not worried about catching it (and you shouldn't if you're under 60) then it's not a bad idea. My concern would be if it's a direct flight or not, if it isn't and it lands in the US, I'm not sure how that would play out...

No. Because of information contained in this link. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/mexico
You'll only be causing yourself a ton of problems, phoning to try to get your money back, etc.

*risk averse not adverse.Mrsn said:It really depends on how risk adverse you are. If you’ve done your research on restrictions, travel entry requirements, policies on masks etc and still feel
you want to then that’s totally your choice. Many others have done so over the last few months and appear to have enjoyed the respite.
Westin has given some excellent advice, use a reputable travel provider and booking as a package is key.... therefore you won’t get stung if the hotel suddenly closes but the flight is still going ahead or vice versus.... lots of threads over the last few months where this has happened.
Current UK government advice is to avoid all non-essential international travel.
It would be crazy to book something which is just going to be cancelled anyway. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. I'm shocked at how many people here just are not taking coronavirus seriously. It's a killer and it's NOT, in spite of what people are thinking, restricted to the over 60s.
If only people would just stay at home for a while and stop mingling and mixing it would stop spreading. As it is, where I live has just been put into Tier 3, just when we thought coronavirus was easing.
We have to try to be sensible and stop selfishly flying all over the world. Businesses are losing money hand over fist, yes but we're never going to be coronavirus-free while people are only thinking of themselves.

We tried that for a couple of months and it reduced the number of new cases but it was clear the virus wouldn't go away by people staying at home, as asymptomatic key workers and people going about essential business (like shopping for food) were still spreading it around. While testing has improved since, it is still possible for people who have recently been infected to test negative which means even if key workers were tested every day they would still spread the virus around. It's also one thing saying people should hold off a few weeks before they book a dental checkup or arrange for a new boiler to be fitted but it's another thing saying people should hold off until the virus has gone, even if that's not until 2022 or later.MalMonroe said:I'm shocked at how many people here just are not taking coronavirus seriously. If you've looked at infection rates and entry requirements for other countries you'll notice some only allow you to enter if you recently tested negative for COVID (that directly means some asymptomatic people who have been tested as they were hoping to go on holiday are now self-isolating instead of spreading the virus around), it also means some British people are relaxing on Greek islands without a single COVID case instead of being in the UK with one of the worse infection rates in the world. Of course there's people like Harry Maguire who go abroad, get drunk and ignore social distancing guidance but it's the same with people staying in the UK.2 -
So my flights still scheduled to go ahead 20 November but then when I go on the BA website to search for the same flights for sale, it says there are no flights available?! They’re either full (doubt it) or about to be cancelled.0

Where did you read this? I can’t see anything like that but my flight is still scheduled to go ahead according to manage my booking.minimad1970 said:
