Help with NDR ( debt recovery)

  • Hi Everyone,

I am hoping someone can help me, I have got myself into a bit of a mess with debt...

The biggest one being Littlewoods, which has now been passed to NDR..

I owe them £4300 but my arrears are only £900 ish..

I have offered to pay NDR £100 per month but they replied & said the minimum they could accept is £215 per month !!
I can't afford that which I told them & asked them what should I do now, but all I keep getting from them is that £100 per month is not acceptable & they don't actually answer any of my questions..

I have just told them I am currently requesting my credit agreement from Littlewoods so will be paying nothing until I recieve this...

What I wanted to know though as I am not up on the law, is it not illegal for them to try & make me pay more than I can afford ?

Any help would be much appreciated as I have no idea about any of this stuff !!

    Thanks :)

    Hi
Its not illegal you have defaulted by £900 but that does not mean you have to pay more than you can afford
They are a nightmare to deal with and will run up huge charges before passing you on to DCA
    How old is your debt
And you really should start your own thread

Just to let you know, NDR ARE Littlewoods. As you have probably found out, they are the most unhelpful bunch of peeps to deal with...:(
  • Hi Winner 12,
Thanks for your reply, my arrears are from the last 6 months....
Sorry about not starting my own thread but this one seemed to be about NDR & other people had tagged on to it so thought it was okay..... Sorry !!

    Hi Los72,

I thought NDR were a DCA so thanks for that info and yes they are very very unhelpful & horrible to you also !!

    Hi all, first time here.

My mom has recently gone into hospital and will be there for quite a period of time. Like many others she has debt owed to Littlewoods. NDR are on our backs to repay the money although this isn't possible at the moment due to herself being in hospital and only recieving DLA & Housing Benefit to cover rent etc.

I believe she tried to set up a payment plan of around ~£80/month. I was wondering if it was possible to send a CCA to Littlewoods to help her with her money, obviously it's quite difficult with her being in hospital to manage her bills but I'm trying to tidy them up a little for her.

Also, with sending the initial CCA request letter to Littlewoods, how do you enclose the £1 payment? I'm only 19 so don't know much about how catalogues etc work.

    Thanks in advance! (:

This could probably so with being in it's own thread.

I'll move it into one and add a link below.

Hi can anyone help me, ive been in dispute with littlewoods for some time now and sent letters to them requesting CCA. They sent me a blank one hoping ide sign it but i didnt, then the debt was passed to ndr and they also were very unhelpfull. So i sent a the letter which was on this forum to them and they have now passed it on to (lowell Financial) threating court action. What can i do as im struggling financialy and im sick of these big companies trying to screw us over, i never missed a payment and in some cases payed more than i should but when i came into a bit of difficulty they turned into wild animals wanting blood. What to do now ????

Send them a complaint, signed for. Complain about the lack of response to a valid CCA request. Complain about misleading you. Could send a subject access request.

How old is the account? Pre 2007 and no signed CCA means they can't do court on a catalogue debt.

  • Yes the acount is pre 2007 and both letters sent to littlewoods and ndr from this forum were recorded delivery.
