Buying a house near a mushroom farm

I don't think it will affect you as much as you think. Ask around and see what other people who live in the area say. A nasty smell for a couple of days a year is not something that would put me off living somewhere considering I had the benefits of living there the other 364 days of the year. Even a week of nasty smells wouldn't put me off. A few days a month would probably. But you haven't established this smell problem exists yet. It may not.1

Living in the countryside, I know that public perception may be somewhat different from the reality of modern commercial farming, with it's large, noisy machines and occasional smells. Temporary smells are certainly noticed, but ones which hang around for a while tend not to be, as the olfactory system becomes inured (manured?) to them. A farm emitting the same smell might therefore not be a problem after a week or so, whereas one where the smell was sporadic might be.I agree with those saying this is something you should investigate first hand....or nose....to establish the facts as best you can. Local people will be able to save you setting-up permanent camp there by giving their personal take on the situation.1

Emissions from farms are much more tightly regulated in the UK than elsewhere, so I wouldn't assume the stuff on Google applies. As others say, do your local research before you decide.0
