I tried to get compensation for a delayed flight. Booked through Thomson. They didn’t use their own airline and so they wouldn’t entertain any liability. Tried on numerous occasions and don’t seem to be getting anywhere. The airline they used are a foreign airline. I’ve been trying now for years we did travel in 2015. Is it worth pursuing?

Thomson (TUI) are correct. It is the airline that is responsible for EC261 compensation, not the travel agent or tour operator.
(Was your flight code TOMxxx, or did it use the foreign airline's code?)0 -
FPO was the first letters of the flight number0

As the operator of the flight, it's ASL Airlines France that you need to be chasing for your compensation then. https://www.aslairlines.fr/en/0
