Problems Switching - problem with MoneySupermarket's website!

Options
Hello I don't usually count myself as a switcher but having subsequently joined the Cheap Energy Club and with my current supplier (Eon) unable to let me speak to their retentions team until a switch has been applied for, I tried doing one 3 or 4 days ago but unfortunately when selecting the one I wanted and clicking on the switch button, it then puts you through to a webpage on MoneySupermarket.com and they have a problem with their site recognising a legitimate sort code/account number so unable to do it. I spoke to MoneySupermarket who said they could do it over the phone *BUT* I wouldn't get the cash back. Today I've tried again to switch to British Gas and had the same problem. I phoned British Gas who informed me it was for home owners only! I'm a tenant and stated that clearly on Cheap Energy Club! So I tried a different one and again big problem at MoneySupermarket so *STILL* unable to switch. My current contract ends on 18th (2 days!) and first time I had this problem, I used the feedback/contact us button on CEC and despite it saying you'd get a reply within 2 days, here I am 3 or 4 days later and *STILL* nobody has been in touch. Doesn't Martin always tell us we should switch to save money? Isn't that why he set up the CEC? I'm SO stressed out it's ridiculous there's no phone number to speak to someone on about problems like this. Can someone PLEASE contact me before my contract expiress, otherwise I''m going to end up staying with Eon and paying about £130 a year more for my duel fuel. :(

Thank you. I do hope someone can ...  by phone ideally!!

Like many others you have posted in the wrong bit of MSE - this section is for LPG etc not Gas and Electric. Hopefully MSE will move it.

One bit of advice - don't go for dual fuel - look at separate suppliers for your gas and electric.

Secondly, Look at Citizens Advice and Which? switching sites.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
