RS website is often wrong, ie not showing freesat on tvs that definitely have it. All tvs sold have freeview AFAIK.0

Have : Samsung EU43TU8510UXXU 43" 4K Ultra HD Smart Tv at £410 delivered"Digital Tuner DVB-T/C/S2(T2 Ready)" The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon1 -
I think you will find mention of TV Plus on any Samsung Smart TV.
I have one, and not only does it get all available Freeview channels, but when you connect to wifi you will get up to 100 extra channels in the 4000 range. Everything from movies to drama and even a 'Beverley Hillbillies' channel!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock3 -
Yes, Samsung TVs have TVPlus instead of Freeview Play. I wish it had Freeview Play though as it is more usueful to me with the plus or minus 7 days TV guide and I never have any use for the dross on the 4000 channels range. As it is, I have Freeview Play on my Manhattan box and use that most of the time rather than the Samsung TVPlus option, which I find clunky to use by comparison to Freeview Play.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0

I assume as Samsung pay TVPlus, not Freeview they have no right to put Freeview on the description as they haven't paid to use it.0

There would be little point in Samsung selling a TV in the UK which couldn't receive Freeview channels. Of course they can. The only difference is the TV guide, which as others have pointed out, is TV Plus rather than Freeview Play, and this means that you don't get the option to go back 7 days using catch-up via the programme guide-you have to use the dedicated catch up app instead. No free lunch, and no free laptop1

WLM21: Just because the retailer / manufacturer warranty has expired you could have still pursued redress under the Consumer Rights Act (prev. Sale of Goods Act). I did just that when my 3 y/o Argos LCD TV blew up (literally). Received compensation offers of cash or price discount.
Norman_Castle: Like analogue TV signals, digital transmissions are also referred to as "terrestrial channels". They are simply Earth based transmitted radio waves. This is as opposed to Satellite, Cable, or IP based transmission delivery.
