I don't know how else to explain thisAskAsk said:
so if in realityEllis931 said:No it's just getting confusing nowOn my Cv I put role 1 2011-2013
role 2 2013-2020
but in reality my contract for role 2 started in 2015 but because I had been helping out role 2 whilst I was working in role 1 I thought I had started role 2 earlier than I had it was my bad memory I should have checked but I didn't. I don't know how else I can explain it.
role 1 = 2011 to 2013
role 2 = 2015 to 2020
what were you doing between 2013 and 2015? you couldn't have helped out in role 2 between 2013 and 2015 as you had already finished role 1 two years earlier.
I was working in role 1 from 2011-2013 but I was helping out in role 2 whilst in role 1 then straight after I went into role 2 I didn't have a break the two merged and as I was helping out whilst I was working in role 1 I didn't receive my contract until 2015 and start working for them properly then I don't know how else to explain it0 -
Because they were in the same building the two merged and the dates have merged but basically I was working role 2 without a formal contract for about 2 years I would so but because there no contract no one can say for sure, also because I was doing apprenticeship I didn't get a contract from role 1Ellis931 said:

the reason i am asking you about clarification of dates is not because i don't believe you. i am trying to pre-emptive the question that HR will ask you if you tell them the dates are incorrect.Ellis931 said:

when it comes to CV, employers like to see continuity of history in timeline, so if there is a gap they would want to understand why there is a gap. if there is an overlap, they will want to see the overlap.
from what you have said, if you tell them that you completed role 1 in 2013, helped out in role 2 from 2013 to 2015, then got your contract from 2015. this would mean you couldn't say that you were helping out in role 2 while you were still doing role 1 as in reality that had finished 2 years before.

Yes I know that but what I am trying to say is one didn't really finish then the other one start it over lapped but I didn't have a contract until 2015 that's why it looks like there's a gapAskAsk said:

I really can't explain It in any other way I was working in role 1 then I started working in both but I didn't have a formal contract until 2015 I can not explain any other way than thatEllis931 said:

then you have also made a mistake on the end of the apprenticehip as that could not have finished in 2013 as you say you were helping out in role 2 while you were still doing your apprenticehip.Ellis931 said:

you should look at the apprenticechip end date again as it could not possibly be in 2013 if what you say is correct.
the referee that you have given them, is that from your recent employment?0 -
Yes it is well I've messed up then how can I check when my apprenticeship was when I didn't have a contract I have to do it from memory0
-
No but wat I'm saying is my apprenticeship ended in 2013 but from 2013 I was working for role 2 but I didn't have a contract until 2015 I can't say it any other way I don't understand what your not understanding0
-
you said that from 2013 to 2015 you were helping out in role 2, and during that time you were doing your apprenticeship, so the apprenticechip has to end in 2015, when you formally got the new contract. if you do not amend the end date for the apprenticeship then they will think you are lying about the two overlapping.Ellis931 said:Yes it is well I've messed up then how can I check when my apprenticeship was when I didn't have a contract I have to do it from memory
were you paid during your apprenticeship? do you no longer have any correspondence about the apprenticeship?0 -
this statement is fine, except for your additional statement that your apprenticeship overlapped with role 2 between 2013 to 2015, which is the reason why you muddled up the start date for role 2.Ellis931 said:No but wat I'm saying is my apprenticeship ended in 2013 but from 2013 I was working for role 2 but I didn't have a contract until 2015 I can't say it any other way I don't understand what your not understanding
if it was simply because you were helping out in role 2 from 2013 to 2015 and no mention of the fact that you were doing an apprenticeship during that time, then that's fine, but this is not what you are proposing to say to HR. you are proposing to tell HR that you were still doing your apprenticehip during 2013 to 2015, which is the overlapping bit.
if you do want to tell HR that your contract didn't start until 2015 but you had started to work with your recent employer from 2013 on a helping out basis, then you shouldn't mention the overlap of the apprenticeship as it doesn't add up from the dates you have put on your CV and not adding up is not good.0
