Should I come clean about a mistake on my Cv

I start a new job on Monday but I made a genuine mistake saying i started my previous job 2 years earlier than I actually did, this is because my job before my most recent job was a apprenticeship with a company that was in the same building as my most recent job so I would basically help out in both jobs so I put an earlier year than my contract states I don't know whether to email HR and come clean about his mistake they will find out and also I have to sign a form letting them ask for references and stating everything I put in my CV is true I don't know whether to just email them and explain everything i definitely did not set our to deceive and everything else on my CV is 1000% true. So basically I've told them I worked at my previous job for 7 years and I've only worked for 5. Also I had an interview and stated this but at the time I honestly thought I'd been there for 7 years.

are you saying that you had given the start date of your recent job as 2 years earlier, when you were doing an apprenticeship?  with someone else?

also to be pendantic, you can't actually be more than 100% true  :D

Yes so basically the company I was doing an apprenticeship with was in the same building and the company I worked at most recently so whilst I was doing my apprenticeship I also helped out in the other company with administrative work. If that makes sense

so what did you say about the apprenticeship on your CV?
when you helped out with administrative work with your present employer, were you employed by them?  if not, in what capacity were you helping out?  and how long did this go on before your official contract start date?

Well I just put the first job role as a accountancy apprenticeship and then I put my most recent role as a administration but i
didnt state on my cv that the 2 roles over lapped and I didn't mention it in my cv because they didn't ask and I just didn't think to mention it. I basically did and accounting apparenticeship but then I would help in the other company doing administrative work and I havnt lied on any other part of my Cv I genuinely thought I was putting the right dates

I wasn't employed by the other company I just helped out  it was about 2 years I helped out before the contract started with my most recent employer that's why I am confused. My old employer even said it's a weird one because I used to help out before I was actually employed by them .

why would your recent employer let you do work for them when you were not employed by them?  you could destroy their company as you had no contract with them and yet they allowed you to have access to confidential files?

but there would be an overlap on the dates for the apprenticeship and your recent employment on the CV?  if so, did they not ask why there is an overlap?

No they didn't ask why there was an overlap in the interview and to be honest they didn't really focus on how long I was there was more about my skills
