I have a new car that I've had coated with a market leading brand of ceramic coating. All paint and glass has been coated. If I were to have an accident and claim for repairs can I also claim for the protection to be reapplied? TIA

Probably not, unless you opted for the additional snake oil protection.
Thing is unless the seller had thrown in the 'protection' for free, you've already been ripped off.0 -
£20 of polish isn't worth worrying about.0

If you expect the coating to be replaced by insurance then you need to declare it as a modification to your vehicle. If you do that your premium will shoot up but it will be covered if your policy covers modifications.0

The coating is cheap enough not to worry about.0

Most insurers will cover modifications as long as you have declared them and paid the additional premium. Obviously at the point of claim you would need to prove that the modification had been made to the vehicle if its not obvious.0

This has to be a wind up?

I guess if you paid to have it done, a not uncommon dealer extra, and you expect it to be re-done in the event of an accident you should declare it. But even then the insurance company might look at it and say you had 3 years of protection on a 5 year product and only pay out 40%.0 -

A can of Armor ceramic coating is like £17.99 + delivery + cloth + an hour or 2 to apply. Not a modification its a cleaning/protection product.
Next they will be wanting to claim for a £8 jet wash token if someone hits their car after they just cleaned it......what about 4 days after its been jet washed, betterment so may have to be reduced to £6.50.1
