Structural engineer report, now drain survey

So we’re in the process of selling our house and it’s just been one thing after another. Well, all stemming from the same thing.
So there is a crack that runs down the outside of our house, I posted pictures in a previous thread. Their homebuyer survey said potential subsidence. Buyer’s mortgage lender requested a structural engineer’s report. So we arranged for a structural engineer and he said “on balance of the evidence” his view is that it’s historic subsidence caused by “consolidation of fill material locally”. I have no idea what “fill material” is, but he said he sees no evidence to suggest it’s ongoing and feels that it is “likely” that if the crack is stitched, no further problems should arise. Is this normal for a structural engineer’s report? I was just under the impression that I’d have more definitive answers, like “it is” historic or “it is” ongoing and what caused it and “this will” fix it, not “likely”.
So the buyer’s mortgage company now has that report and our buyers are now arranging for a drain survey, possibly been requested by mortgage lender, not sure. I’m doing a lot of assuming, but I’m assuming they want this to rule out the a leaking drain being the cause of the subsidence (even though the structural engineer said it’s not a drain issue and it’s historic). So if the drain survey does show a leak, is it likely they’ll then assume the subsidence is caused by the leaky drain, and if that is what happens, is that a better outcome than it being caused by fill material consolidation, given that we can get the drain fixed (we do have separate insurance to cover this) and then problem resolved?
