Why is my PC so sloooooow to bootup?

On Monday, I booted up my PC and had an error message (stop: 000004E) something to do with "Citrix". Since then, my PC takes minutes to bootup. I have done a,
Spybot/Bitdefender/Avg and Zonealarm and Adware scan. Nothing showed on any of them.
Any ideas, please.

If you have Citrix or a Citrix ICA client installed, I assume this is a work PC, or at least a PC you use for some sort of remote access / remote application access to another site/system, as this is what Citrix is for...
If not and you don't use Citrix at all, then you first need to investigate the error and remove the Citrix ICA client (which will be in the add/remove programs control panel)0 -
Thanks for the reply.
No, this is my home PC and I don't have remote etc. (Not that I know anything about that)
Is Citrix some sort of software I might have installed recently in error?0 -
It'd be unlikely, unless you specifically connect to a system or application at another site, Citrix installers are at:
http://www.citrix.com/English/SS/downloads/downloads.asp?dID=2755
Check your Add and Remove programs to see if anything Citrix based is installed.
Near the clock (the system tray, assuming you are running XP, or W2K), if there is a Citrix icon (an "i" with a red dot, or one that says "ICA"), then you have a Citrix client installed, hover over to check the details.0 -

Nothing in my systems tray with i with a red dot or ICA. I have looked at recently installed software and I have not installed anything new for 6/7 weeks.0 -

But have you actually looked in your Add/Remove Programs?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I did but I was unsure what to look for. Will a software item that has Citrix installed (?) show an "i" along side of it? Is that what isofa meant?0 -
Just anything with Citrix in the name."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

If you look at the list of startup progs, use ccleaner or adaware or anything you have which shows the list of progs at startup, do you see anything that could be connected -you can google any you don't recognise- try and get this list to a minimum.0

In the add and remove programs if a Citrix component is installed, it'll be listed as either: Citrix, Citrix ICA, Citrix ICA Client, Citrix PSC, Citrix Presentation Server Client etc, or anything else with Citrix in the name as superscaper says. If you find something post it back here.
NB. Citrix is excellent remote access commercial software, used by many home workers rom large companies - it is not spyware or harmful in anyway, but it'd be unlikely it will have been on your home PC, hence getting you to have a look in the first place as you mentioned the error message contained "Citrix".0 -
I have searched the add/remove programmes and there is nothing there with Citrix against it.
When the error message first showed itself, I did a Google and it came up as Citrix.
The only new thing I have installed on my PC is TalkTalk and it's Assist & Go programme. Things have gone downhill since I changed from BT to TT. Could this be a cause. I have complained to TT re my poor phone line quality and very slow BB. They have asked me to record all problem over the next 3 weeks and report back.0
