Expensive BT contract ending

My BT contract ends in a few weeks time. I’m currently paying £80 a month for broadband fibre 1, landline and TV Max HD, which seems a lot to me and seems to have crept up over time. I want broadband, a landline and basic TV, I have Prime and NowTV entertainment when I get offers. I’m nervous about changing supplier because I don’t know what I’m doing, the risks and what I actually need - when I’ve been looking at other suppliers, eg plus net, Now, it seems a lot cheaper but am I missing something!!!
Any help Pointing me in the right direction would be very much appreciated!

Its not that tricky at all, the thing to be most mindful of in my opinion is how important is your landline number to you - there are a few providers that are notorious for neglecting to port your number over, even if you tick the box to keep your number.
Otherwise look at the overall package price, and get something thats suitable for you - you can even probably haggle BT down in price, and stay with them on a better package1 -
So really it’s a case of looking at the packages on the MSE tool and finding something suitable, much the same as changing energy suppliers, which I’ve done for as long as I remember quite happily, it’s just fear of the unknown! Thanks for your help.0

I'm with Sky and only paying about £40 for fibre and line rental. We switched from BT years back with no issues.1

OP start with what you want to watch .BT retentions can do a better deal if you threaten to leave .I get BT 80/20 BB + Line Rental + 700 mins pm calls + BT max TV + BT Sport HD/ UHD for under £40 pm .
That was a negotiated deal 2019 18/ 24 months .1 -
I ended up phoning BT and the loyalty dept offered the same as I have now plus a guarantee the price won’t go up at the end of the contract for £39.99 and also some bits and bobs in refunds and some other extras I can’t remember so probably don’t need! So I’ve stayed with BT as it is slightly cheaper than the Sky package I was looking at. Thank you for the help and advice, much appreciated.0

Ive been with SKY now for 5 years, will never go back to BT.
i pay £54 a month for fibre broadband, landline unlimited calls and basic TV with 2 SKY Q boxes which.
Never an issue connecting mini SKY Q box in bedroom acts as a wifi booster.
If you do join SKY get a SKY TV customer to send you a referal link as it gives both of us a gift card0
