PIP assessment - Paper Based

They said they sent back the forms on October 5th.born_again said:
I wonder if they mean the original claim form you fill in.poppy12345 said:Robbie64 said:I'm a little confused by this thread. Why would the OP phone Capita if the PIP form had just been posted last week (and which the DWP have now sent to IAS / ATOS)? And even more, why would Capita say they have sent back a form that they never had in the first place?
No idea. When the OP said DWP had received the form back, i assumed they meant the assessment report. I didn't even realise they had very rencently sent the form to DWP and the chances of having any news on this right now would be very slim.
So they are just at the start of the process.
Perhaps if OP gave some dates it might clear any confusion?
Date app started, when forms returned etc.
OP, timescales vary across the country but my phone assessment was over 2 months after returning my forms, which was quick compared with pre-pandemic PIP applications. You phoned up after not even 2 weeks - and probably only a week after the DWP actually received them. Patience is very much needed for this process!

I actually got a phonecall from DWP and arranged a time and date for my phone asessment but no one actually called me.Spoonie_Turtle said:

I phoned capita up 5 hours after my appoinment and they said DWP asked for the forms back.
I rang up today and found out DWP sent it to an assessor (Capita!) in which they are not in my area.
So DWP have sent it on to independent assessment services. I am now awaiting for another appointment for them to ring me!0 -
DWP have nothing at all to do with the assessments so i'm confused why they rang you in the first place.daysaunders87 said:

With respect, I think you may have misunderstood them on that point. DWP don't arrange the assessments, the assessment providers do.daysaunders87 said:

I don't know what the rest of it means, maybe they sent it to the wrong assessment company which is why they'd been returned. [Although to be honest, from accounts that I've read of going through the process, I think sometimes the people on the end of the phone at DWP just say things to keep people happy rather than giving the clearest, most accurate updates.]
Mine was through IAS and I had a text message telling me the date and time the phone assessment had been booked for, followed by a letter with some extra information (mostly about interpreters or if I wanted anyone else with me during the call). I then had a phone call the day before the assessment to confirm the time and to tell me the name of the assessor and that they'd be calling from a withheld number.1 -
Useful to know... they've got my paperwork.. DWP initially received it over 2 months ago...Spoonie_Turtle said:

but if they text, call and send letter then it sounds pretty much foolproof in terms of notification. I guess most likely a text first then if a telephone assessment is required."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0
