in Credit cards
Hi guys i used my credit card to pay almost £9,000 to get triple glazing for my home from a well known window installation company which went to admin and then changed its name to operate again.
I made a section 75 claim on my credit card on horriffic installation of the windows and doors after months of calling them to correct the situation...My problem is i was asked by my credit company to find a widow installer or engineer who can write a report on the bad window installation and corrections needed ...for the life of me nobody wants to give me a report i even tried FENSA and no look ....What do i do i need some help the gredit card company is insists in needs a report ...

You're going to need to find an independent assessment from somewhere.0

Although if will definately help your claim if you can get such a report, there is nothing in law that says you have to have one.
You can still pursue the CC company under S75 without a report. If they still refuse ask for a deadlock letter.
You could be helpful and ask the CC company if they know a surveyor who you could use (maybe one who has done this before) or ask them to appoint their own surveyor.0 -
Why is no one willing to provide a report?0

Deadlock letter is when you and the company disagree i.e. you want a refund and they say no
this enables you to then take the complaint to the FCA0 -
Just to be clear your first course of action is to raise a formal complaint with the credit card company - make sure you tell them it is a formal complaint
your complaint will be that they are equally liable for the windows and it is unreasonable and unnecessary in the current climate for them to ask for a independent survey - you have tried to do it but have been unable to do so.
You can tell them in the complaint that you are perfectly willing for them to send anybody they wish around to look at the windows
They will eventually reply to your complaint - they have to do that at and they will either give you the money back or at that point you will get your deadlock letter and you can go to the FCA
