If you blend any number of peaty malts you will get peaty blended whisky.

Maybe works better in a more wintry ambiance, but nothing "wrong" with it.

There's no evidence of any attempt to achieve a balance here, a reminder to me of the wisdom of continuing to steer clear of blended whiskies(my own favourite tipple is single malt, not the big name big brand stuff comprising 'blended' ingredients of unknown provenance and, frequently, awful taste.

Jonny Walker Blue Label is a blended whisky. You could hardly describe it as "awful".

I've tried it. It is peaty but it's not that strong. 

It clearly isn't to your taste, but if you find it that revolting please don't ever order a dram of Laphroaig. Your head may explode.

I quite liked Lagavulin for a while but gradually preferred other whiskys. Seems strange to condemn a peaty whisky for being, well, peaty!

I work for a well known whisky distillary who have a number of whisky brands (not FG), trying all 3 peaty whiskeys confirmed to me that I do not like the 'smokey' taste, I'll stick to the standard 12 year old single malt.

I think it is (and I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a blend anyway) but whisky preferences really are a matter of personal taste.
