  • yeah i probably won't go see the Bank Job myself - apart from Lock Stock I've never really seen much in Jason Stratham...
I hear he's going to do some obscure comic book movie about a guy who goes deep-sea diving!

oh btw some more useless pics for Quantum of Solace (awesome title!) have been released

Just back from The Bank Job.

A good solid British movie, not too many laughs but it's not that sort of film. Some very familiar faces, a reasonable plot (but then again it is based on fact), good acting and sets/props that do remind of the early 1970s.
    A solid 8/10 from me!

However, (not this film related) where are all the MSE members from Derby that want free cinema tickets ?
Cinema had 167 seats! How many there? TEN !
    So audience "atmosphere"? ZERO !
    Is 18:30 too soon?
    Monday a bad night?
    This film not good enough?
Supply of tickets for this film was not an issue - not strictly limited by seefilmfirst and a code, just visit a webpage and print it out, as many times as you wanted !!!!
Given this was offered by Yahoo directly to Yahoo users, and subsequently advertised on other freebie sites, I was wondering if I was the only MSEer there !

Hm, that's a good question. I thought the Bank Job was almost over-advertised, so there might have been more tickets available than people willing to see it, but 10 people really takes the biscuit.

  • Being a newcomer to this site for freebie cinema tickets, I was somewhat concerned. In the tickets only no chat thread I had read very apologestic emails from new people or merely the unsure people who were posting in areas they may not supposed to be! But anyway I gave it a shot as I have received codes from other websites and also through friends in other companies in the past.

My first posting - already posted on another website - was straight away asked questions of (on the no chat website of course) by several people highly concerned that I had used an "Ambassador" code ! What that was was also explained and I had myself to say where I got the criminating code from! As it was stated, another webite openly available to everybody else to take. I had shared it with all the great forum buddies on this site as my first post.

My second post went smoothly. No shouting or squealing from members - great. The storm is over.

I then came across another Bank Job code - as said previously - there are LOADS of these tickets flying around but heyho thought I'd share the love! Nearly immediately someobody is telling me to delete it IN THE NO CHAT SECTION! because they had posted it two pages earlier. I apologise, I did not read that far back but it is about codes and if more tickets have become available under the code then re-publish it - people are then reminded. I would have thought that this was the sane thing to do. Following this up is some disgruntled user who has had to log in and find a duplicate code. Again their discontentment voiced in the NON CHAT section. Imagine all these people logging in to my duplicate code, logging in again to the lady telling me to delete the offending repeat and finally again for a complaint at a user logging into this awful mistake!

As a newbie and having used other sites for freebies, I must say I've never had these issues before and it is kind of offputting to remain posting on this site! Sad really as there are good chats and codes often posted. I have I believe posted in the correct area (I hope, I hope!) and not in the NOT CHAT area! But perhaps this could be considered when people moan about available codes - duplicates or not people are sharing them and often don't have the time to read the whole thread! Newbies really are not made to welcome and I doubt it pleases existing members! This is after all a freebie posting site where we share what we know!

    Got that off my chest!

PS As I am a newbie I haven't as of yet worked out how to delete any offensive and distasteful postings I may have put by way of duplicate. If this could be shared with me to please the poor pre poster that seemed to think I was on her turf!
  • :A Back from The Bank Job, not a cinema film but a shameless TV film: rythm and acting all very geared up to be acclaimed by the couch potato that will go to see it because of Jason Stratham and his cockney accent. It is not going to be that difficult to be liked by the masses. The plot is nothing new, but it is always amusing to see how and what the "royals" have to hide. The criminals come on top. After all they are "rehabilitated working class"
One reason why it will be "a great film" is that the rythm never caves in, it always keeps going and by the same token, as in TV, it has absolutely no depth, the camera is direct and there is no art. Call it a style. Gratuitious. 4.5/10 in my humble opinion.:A

  • Hi all,
Saw "The Bucket List" tonight. Brilliant! My first time at the Lowry, great cinema, pretty packed out. I liked the cool air blowing in, very nice. Parking is a bit steep £4, but I can't get there any other way. Printworks is usually about £4 too, Do any MSEs know how to get it any cheaper? Still worth it for a night out and a great film like that.
Only noticed yesterday marialionza's post about the fire. I hope you are OK now, thats a pretty shocking thing to happen to you.
I've got tickets for "There Will be Blood" tomorrow, real tickets that came in the post on Saturday. I'm really chuffed about that. I've given my "Bank Job" tickets away. "Be Kind Rewind" on Thursday and, if I feel like it, £3.50 to see "This is England" and "Brick Lane" BAFTA double bill from Insider club on Wednesday. Not free but cheap for 2 films.
Beate, what number is next for the 104 club please? I won't make it but would like it in my sig.
Just looking to save a few pennies here and there

to delete a post you just go to edit, and under there is a bit to delete, put duplicate post or whatever in the reason. Hope this helps

I doubt that any of us will make it! Grab yourself number 15 if you like. Btw, a simple "brilliant" won't do, we want proper ratings, LOL!

  • Hello, we saw The Bucket List tonight at the o2. The Vue was about half full and the audience including us had a few laughs. I must admit it was better than I anticipated. Freeman and Nicholson both gave solid performances but even so, I wouldn't give it more than 6 out of 10.
Parking was free. Showed the email confirmation and the initial parking ticket at the desk and exchanged it for an exit parking ticket. We went to a good Nepalese restaurant afterwards for a nice curry.(8 out of ten).
