Free Cinema Tickets - Discussion thread

  • I tried this voucher today at Didsbury cineworld having looked up their website and found times for showing Juno. They refused to let us have free tickets telling me there is only one qualifying showing on offer (this wednesday afternoon). Today the only one on the list that was free was Atonement, and only at 4pm.

Since there seems to be nothing in the small print, or on the cineworld website, about this I tried to argue the toss with the manager (much to my teenage daughter's embarrassment). He insisted "this is a head office decision" and I ended up paying £11.50 for two tickets much to my annoyance.

BEWARE check with each cinema individually before hand.

We went to cineworld tonight and saw Control (Ian Curtis and his life) 4 of us for free with this offera nd it was excellent.

The trick with the telegraph/orange ones is to take the coupon/s in well in advance and ask which days they have for the films you prefer. They give you proper tickets then for normal screenings. Good luck next time. Thanks to op for this one well enjoyed by us all.
  • I'v waited ages to post this, but finally feel the need.... it may be infuriating for subscribers of this thread when the new comers on the site post discusion on this thread, but definately more infuriating are the posts that follow saying not to (which is why i've refrained for so long in posting this) can't we just let it go and let them learn the forum, for every irrelevant post there are usually 2 or more to tell them off, just leave it ..... that in itself will reduce the amount of log in disappointment to subscribers of the thread.

With apologies for chatting, pls see my posting on chat not tickets. I had a problem on Saturday not unlike you. I went to same cinema yesterday and they honoured it, having said on Saturday my movie choice was 'new'! There were four of us, one had original newspaper coupon , one had PDF printed. It looks like different staff have a different awareness level. We went with the original paper to show that the movie we had tried to see Saturday was included.

PS. The small print in the paper says subject to availability, rather than subject to particular screenings
  • HI desperate to get any tickets for this movie

I am having a dreadful crisis right now but for once not about cinema tickets. I know you'd go anywhere in London, but what is your preferred cinema, just in case I fall over a code before you do?

From the makers of Notting Hill and Love Actually, we have special previews of Definitely, Maybe!

Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds), a 30-something Manhattan dad, is in the midst of a divorce when his 10-year-old daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), starts to question him about his life before marriage. His story begins in 1992, as a 24 year-old starry-eyed aspiring politician who moves from Wisconsin to New York to work on the presidential campaign. Will relives his career ups and downs and personal trials and tribulations as he tells Maya about his three most meaningful relationships. As Maya attempts to figure out which of the women became her mother she begins to understand the complexity of love and Will realises that it's never too late to go back.

We have previews on the 5th February all over the country - to see locations and download tickets simply go to www.seefilmfirst.com and enter code: 124189
