Has anybody had any problems claiming tickets with (original) voucher from telegraph, jan 31st? I see that the sticky has listed the movies available, which is the same as the paper.

I went to cineworld today to ask for two tickets for JUNO, and they said no, as it was a new film. I argued that their was a list of BAFTA nominated movies which included this, but no joy.

I plan to go back tomorow, with Fridays paper in hand, and if they dont play ball, will politely ask to see the manager.

So, to close, can I just ask again if anyone else has had any problems?

    Thanks!
Had no problems first time round but went today again to collect one set of tickets for someone else and the guy at the box office studied the printout for what seemed like half an hour before he said he could not accept copies. I politely pointed out that this was not a copy but a printout from the Telegraph website but if it was a real problem for him, I had another "authentic" voucher. He then said it was fine he would accept it. Found it a bit strange.

Guys, I just came back from a free Cineworld screening of The Lives of Others. Oh my God, this film HAS to win a Bafta. I cried. And I never cry. If you can at all, go and see this film! The only other screening for it at Shaftesbury Avenue is Tuesday 20:45, but of course there are other cinemas out there. I give this film 10 out of 10. Oh, and a strange thing: this film, just like previews, did not have any advertising beforehand, it started on the dot at 4pm, so please do try and be on time, we had people pouring in until half past!

  • TLOO won Best Foreign Film last year at the Oscars (but was released later in the UK)
Deservedly so - I've only seen it once (need to again)
And it's available on DVD for under £7:

Oh guys, what's our policy on these Bafta screenings? Should we rate them, or should we avoid doing that?
On the one hand, most were released last year. On the other hand, though, they are free screenings after all...

IMHO it doesn't matter when they were released, it matters when we can see them for free, so I will rate all of them. Feel free to differ! :)

Thanks to this site, I registered with filmfirst some time ago, and today I received my first chance to book free tickets at a local cinema. My daughter and I are going to see The Bucket List on Monday. (code as previous posts above) Not sure if this is the right place to say thanks. I am soooo looking forward to this freebie. MANY THANKS.

Yes good point, otherwise we might've as well reviewed every film, which would defeat the purpose of our Free Film Rating thing
I'll add your review to the list...
hurm actually shall I do a monthly update thing? I could post the scores and stuff...

I'll go ahead and give this update at least
Discounting (for now) films with one/no vote, our top films are DAN IN REAL LIFE (8.75 from 4 votes), JUNO (7.7 from 6 votes), DEFINITELY,MAYBE (6 from 2 votes)
Give us a shout if I've miscounted anything, oh and anyone who saw a film earlier this year can still give their rating as long as they saw the film at a free screening - that'd be much appreciated

Does anyone remember there being tickets available around (early jan) for the 7th feb 2008 for definitely maybe at Greenwich.

im sure i applied for a ticket but it isnt in my inbox and I havent had a reminder.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"
  • Ok Wolverine, a couple more ratings for you

    Dan In Real Life 6.5/10
    Juno 8/10

Shame I can't rate Cloverfield as I paid to see it (I'm sure I'm not the only one that really resents paying for the cinema nowadays!!) but it was brilliant, highly recommend it. We were still discussing it hours later so it obviously had some effect.

While I was there I picked up my Bafta screening tickets.....Atonement and The Bourne Ultimatum.....unfortunately I couldn't squeeze anymore in (what with the Def Maybe freebie on Weds too!) but there were about 3 or 4 others I'd have loved to have seen. No probs getting the tickets, although the guy did have to go confirm with his manager as he knew nothing about it.

It's been a great cinema freebie year so far, let's hope it continues!

They were for 6 Feb, then another code came for 5 Feb I think. I am sure you will get a reminder soon. I had mine yesterday for the Bucket List on Monday.
