well is it safe to say juno has had the most and widest publicised free screenings?
Ratings please, if youre up for this system!
I'll give it a 7 myself - i was too hyped up for it lol, so i didn't find the Juno character as clever as has been said but I found it very interesting towards the end. Oh, and it was really a different film than I was expecting. But, I can see why people like the Juno character and I'll probably see it again (more free tickets!) on thursday, with more insightHaikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense

Yes I would give Juno 7 out of 10 as well.
Just came back from a screening of Definitely, Maybe at the Odeon Whiteleys. Apparently it was a Bebo screening and a woman gave me some weird multi-coloured wristbands before the film started and asked whether I wanted to give a verdict afterwards. "We film it and put it on Bebo so you can see it yourself." Yeah, cause, my dream's come true (not).
Anyway, I would give this film 6 out of 10 as it was sweet but rather predictable. I could tell you when I knew where the film was going but that might be giving clues away. The film kid was cute, but then, film kids usually are. The film took a bit to get really going I thought and got better towards the end, but for a romantic comedy there definitely weren't enough real laughs in it.
I think I am going to start rating the cinemas too. The Odeon Whiteleys screen 5 is a miserable 1 out of 10. Small, no real legroom except in the last row, and there was very little steepness in the rows, they were just one after the other, so we sat there hoping no one would use the seats in front of us. You could also hear people outside the screen talking, which I found a bit offputting, and somehow every sound of crispscrunching or cokeslurping seemed amplified. Luckily, there were only 25 people max in the screening.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

I saw Juno tonight, too. Don't get me wrong- it was a good movie! - Ellen Page was endearing as the eponymous anti-heroine, but I was slightly disappointed. It fell too near to the mainstream teen-daze stuff to feel truly original, or different.
It was just '10 things I hate about You', given a few more swear words and a grittier social situation. That's all the rage at the moment, everyone is ripping off Judd Apatow-style movies (Knocked Up, Superbad) Even the male lead was nicked from one of those movies (Michael Cera from Superbad)!
Oh well. All teens grow up! Remember how dated these things will look, in 10 years time! ;-)0 -
JUNO
I'd give it 7/10 also. Enjoyed it - not overly so but probably more than I thought I would. The plot has all but been done before - but then again almost impossible to think of one that hasn't. Can just about understand the Oscar nominations. The humour was lacking somewhat, from probably what a British audience appreciates the best, (sarcasm, irony and all the others) but with few TV & movie exceptions that is American humor for you. (they can't even spell it correctly :rotfl: )

I was at Whiteleys too Beate! Had a nightmare getting there as the Arsenal game meant they were restricting access at certain stations for 'crowd control'. I agree it's not the best cinema, not particularly comfortable - and I was straight out of there, like I want to be plastered all over Bebo! (I do have a Bebo account which I hardly ever use, but that is not the point!) I did almost feel a little sorry for them as I don't think they got anyone's reaction! Well not too sorry....
Thought Whiteleys would be quite packed, but it was rather empty. I didn't really like Definitely Maybe, and I usually like Ryan Reynolds - I don't think it was a terrible film but perhaps it didn't live up to my expectations - and I actually found the little girl annoying! I'd give it 5 out of 10.0 -
saw Juno at Greenwich last night. I thought it was great 8/10 nicely done without too much sentiment- you kinda knew what was going to happen before it did. hubby called it a chick flick. Had my dd with me 11 & 16 and they both thought that it would be a good film to show in schools to illustrate that teen pregnancy isn't all hearts and flowers. liked it very much.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."
