Lots of flash motors in my area have removed the front plate altogether.
They just stick it on the dashboard.
The 'in thing' ???

Methinks your post can be summed up with a head and a nail.missile said:Looks correct to me.
Why do you ask when it is obviously not your car? Are you looking to snitch on your neighbour?0 -
When I were but a lad there used to be someone in the area with B1 TCH as their number plate on a black Range Rover with blacked out windows etc. Even though it was mid 90s by then the driver was always a early 40s woman in 80s style power dressing... always did wonder if she bought it for herself or it was a gift, presumably from an ex.Biggus_Dickus said:Supersonos said:
They're EVERYWHERE. I recently bought a new plate for a trailer - I had to send proof of ID and proof of ownership and there was no option to space the plate differently.JamoLew said:It's quite "common" around here - surprised more don't get pulled, seems like easy money that the Police are ignoring
So these people must go to a lot of extra effort to get illegally spaced plates and for what?! I just do not understand.I knew a guy a few years ago who drove a little Merc sports car with the reg A13 USE.
However, he’d got rid of the gaps and put the 1 & 3 so close together they’d become a ‘B’
The number plate, to all intents and purposes, was ‘ABUSE’ ;....who in their right mind would think that’s a good idea ‽

And then there's the new trend of have darker number plates. I've not worked out why yet - to avoid speed cameras?0

Not really, there are loads of online companies which will supply plates designed to your specification. They mostly claim to be supplying "show plates" and require no documentation etc at all.

BBC did a show where they followed a raid on an ebay seller, selling show plates. Operating from a shed or outbuilding
i think. Not enough plates there for more than a days use. They found a warehouse with a lot more stock.
Plates on ebay got a little quiet for a while but they trickled back.

It's a thing around here, I wouldn't class them as flash cars, though the drivers clearly fancy themselves as boy racers. The lad down the road got shut of one car with the front plate on the dashboard, only to take the front plate off the new car and put it on the dashboard. I don't get it plus I thought it was illegal.greyteam1959 said:Lots of flash motors in my area have removed the front plate altogether.

So much illegal activity goes unpunished. Speeding, cycling on pavements/through red lights, hogging the middle lane etc etc.DD265 said:

And when people are punished, it's a wrap on the knuckles or, if they're really unlucky, a £20 fine.0 -
The front plate thing on the dash is because they think it looks cool/mean.
Just like driving around in beautiful glorious sunshine with your front fogs on.
They haven't accepted that it makes them look like an absolute clown. Give them time. They may one day realise.
Its up there with the lexarse lights for me.0
