Who fancies 14 nights stuck in a hotel room ?
Do you know that is what the Australian approach is/will be?

In Barbados there is a quarantine hotel and those there can use the pool, restaurant, sun decks etc. People from the UK with a negative test result thankfully don't have to go there but Tripadvisor is full of comments from american tourists (that have to go there even with a negative test result) saying what its like... very strict distancing rules, a lot of extra cleaning etc.

Personally wouldnt want to go on holiday to spend 2 weeks stuck in a hotel but thats what some people do even when not quarantining and is materially better than being stuck in a hotel room (which is what I had imagined it was).
Australian quarantine is very strict, 14 days isolation in a designated hotel, no leaving the room, no contact with anyone else, food left outside the door, no room cleaning request linen and DIY, with a charge of A$ 3000.  It is also only available to returning Australian citizens and outsider direct family members allowed in on compassionate grounds.  They have no intention of letting tourists in, from anywhere in the world, until late 2021.
Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear
  • Id like to go to Adelaide in November 21 for the Ashes cricket. When is the best time i can book a flight please?
What a coincidence - you asking about this on the day that Australia banned tourists until the END of 2021.

    Up the Wolves.

Even those from other Australian states have to do the 14 days in a hotel. My son who lives in Brisbane sent a photo yesterday of a hotel being used there for quarantine. It looked as if the army and police were outside.  Can’t see me getting there until 2022 unfortunately.
