Unknown credit in my bank

On the 2nd October I received £788 from CR LTD. I have looked everywhere online and cannot see who this company is. I’ve asked the bank and they aren’t much use with information.
The only money I’m expecting is from travel republic/easyJet for a holiday that got cancelled but that only totals £661
can anyone shed any light on CR LTD

CR on a bank statement usually means credit
If on the other hand you are sure it is CR Ltd then companies House shows this

Do you gamble at all?
Google has a suggestion it may be a gambling withdrawal from say Coral?0 -
No I don’t gamble and I’m definitely not owed money from a building products company. The only money I’m owed is for a holiday that got cancelled so wondered if they could be trading under that name for refunds? It’s so confusing0

Are you looking at this through internet banking or an app?barneybabs1983 said:No I don’t gamble and I’m definitely not owed money from a building products company. If so have you double clicked the entry which should open it up and give you a little more information. It should indicate what sort of merchant that paid you eg Holiday or travel if indeed it is the refund you are expecting.0 -
I would wait a few more days and see if an explanation arrives in the post. A lot of similar stories end this way.0

Don't suppose that you were paying for something priced in $ originally? My daughter has had various refunds from a planned holiday in the U.S, greater than the amount she was expecting ,because the £ has weakened considerably vs the $ since she paid.barneybabs1983 said:No I don’t gamble and I’m definitely not owed money from a building products company. If it was a dollar refund it would also show the amount in dollars which was then converted to £££sbrewerdave said:

Oh, and Travel Republic refunds show up as "TRAVEL REPUBLIC LTD", by the way. I had one myself in August.1 -
Why not contact the travel company and just ask of they've issued the refund and for what amount. If it's not them, I'd hold on to the funds incase it was sent in error. They'll want it back at some point.0

Hi, do you find out where the money comes from? I got the same situation right now. Cheersbarneybabs1983 said:On the 2nd of October, I received £788 from CR LTD. I have looked everywhere online and cannot see who this company is. I’ve asked the bank and they aren’t much use with information.

Would be nice if people came back if it was resolved. Maybe they have just decided that £788 is better in their pocket and wait for someone to chase them.
Is yours the same amount?
What type of payment is it?Life in the slow lane3
