Thread Layout Suggestion

When looking at a thread, on page 1 of a long thread the page navigation buttons can be found below the opening post. On all subsequent pages they can be found at the top. I'd like to suggest that the same location (top) is applied for page 1 too. (If the opening post is a long one then you need to scroll quite a way - or alternatively to the bottom of the page - before you find the page navigation buttons).
The benefits of this are:
a) Consistent user interface
b) Minimised need for scrolling if you want to go to the end of a new (to you, i.e. unread) thread.
Thoughts?

I think you just wasted a few precious minutes of your life. 😉Sadly, the forum is set in stone with all it's broken bits and it seems that it will be like that ad infinitum because someone told MSE it was better than the old forum - ho hum3

I appreciate that this may be a forlorn hope, but forums are based on templates ... implementing what I ask should be a minor change to the master template.0

I'm wondering why you'd want to jump to a later page without first looking at the opening post?0
