BOS - trusted device ditched?

Why have BOS suddenly started calling me every time I log on? Does anyone know if they've dispensed with the facility to declare your PC a trusted device? If so, it's a retrograde step if ever there was one!

Screenshots taken just now from BOS login (which I rarely use, as I prefer to use their app)

Thanks. Yes, previously I've done that, but as of today they are forcing me to accept a phone call for verification every time I log in, and that screen doesn't appear. I'm not clearing cookies or browser history, so it's a bit of a mystery. I can't find the 'Trust this device' screen on the website.0

Having the same problem, had previously trusted my laptop. Which browser ? I am using Firefox.

I've tried Edge, my usual browser, and the old Internet Explorer - both still causing a verification phone call. I noticed that the MBNA logon (Lloyds, of course, as per BOS) is not requiring a verification call.molerat said:Having the same problem, had previously trusted my laptop. Which browser ? Perhaps you should clean your cookies and delete your browsing history, as something appears to have got corrupted.tenchy said:I'm not clearing cookies or browser history, so it's a bit of a mystery. I can't find the 'Trust this device' screen on the website.
My earlier try was with Chrome but I have now also tried it with Edge. It's working perfectly, with the device being trusted.1 -
Thanks. I'll try it.colsten said:

No. Didn't work. Still getting the "Verify yourself with a phone call" requirement. Seems like I'll have to call them for advice.1

I’m also getting this occasionally when trying to log into my MBNA CC account since MBNA is now part of the LLoyds/Halifax/BOS stable. However it usually happens when my IP address has changed, so I’m wondering perhaps OP’s op address has changed eg they’re on a dynamic ip and the router has rebooted (deliberately or not)?0

^^ *ip (not op)0

This sounds like its part of the extra checks that are now being carried for online banking - see https://www.bankofscotland.co.uk/aboutonline/changes-to-internet-banking.html One of the security measures mentioned at the top of that article is the calling of a landline
