Bloke question about chicken breasts

  • One of our favourites is for them to be cut in half horizontally , battered thing, then floured, egged and breadcrumbed - add whatever seasoning you like and shallow fried in a bit of butter and oil, serve with whatever. We like salad and jacket puds or chips and coleslaw. Really only takes a few minutes cooking and easy peasy. You could even posh it up by adding a slice of ham and cheese to the fillet before breadcrumbing
  • another simple one spread a spoon full of mayo over the top of each breast and sprinkle on dry stuffing mix, I kinda wrap the base of the breasts in some foil so only the tops are showing and bake for about 25 minutes or so, or rest them on a dish of veggies and roast, simple and delicious

Yea I throw em in the oven  with a touch of mayo and cajun seasoning
  • I put them in casserole dish with a jar/can of cooking sauce and leave the oven to do the rest.

Slit them open almost all the way through, like a butterfly. Spread pizza toppings over both sides and cook in the oven for approx 30 minutes until cooked.

I tend to cut them up and add to curry, risotto or pasta sauces.

    Make fajitas.

Cut into strips and breadcrumb to make goujons or do the same to the whole breast if you like to make a chicken burger (usually half a breast is enough in this case unless it’s tiny so cut it in half across the way).

If we are eating the breast whole (rare) I usually griddle it on a griddle pan then you get the nice stripe marks on it 😅

  • Wrap them in streaky bacon, then bake in the oven. You can also put a bay leaf/sage leaf/smear of pesto/ small slice of mozzarella between the chicken breast and bacon before you wrap them. You may need a cocktail stick to hold everything together.

@GreyQueen What other cheeses could be used apart from mozzarella?

@littlemoney you can use any cheese which will melt really.  I just use Mr Ts soft cheese or even Primula if that's what I've got in the fridge.
