Creation Consumer finance - Credit dispute Help needed

Hi Guys - I need some advise/suggestion. I have read some past thread on how people have been victim with Creation Consumer finance and now I am on of them. I had a direct debit with them for 52 pounds a month for a Sofa I purchased through DFS. They had been deducting each month for a year but somehow in Sept 2018 for some reason they stopped taking the amount from my Bank account without notifying me and I wasn't aware until I received a letter from Debt company in May 2019 that creation had moved my account to collection. I was furious when I received the call from Debt company as I didn't had a clue why creation stopped detecting the direct debit from account and moved to Debt company. I immediately paid off all the remaining amount and closed my Business with them. Unfortunately this had badly affected my Credit and its appearing as a negative score in my Credit score with Equifax which is currently stopping me to get a Mortgage. I reached out to Creation in July 2020 and they agreed it was a mistake from their end and agreed to correct my credit file with all Agencies. However till now they haven't done it and it still appears in my report. Their customer service are very poor in service and I usually wait on the call around 45 mins to reach to a person and when I reach them they keep telling me that their Internal dispute department have corrected my credit with all Agencies in August 2020 and I need to check with Equifax. However when I reach out to Equifax and they tell me that they haven't received any update from Consumer finance. Also they have raised a dispute with Creation for even which they haven't received any response from Creation. Its been 3 months now and I am going back and forth between Consumer Finance & Equifax but still I unable to see my Equifax file corrected and neither getting my Mortgage approved. I even escalated this matter with Consumer finance customer relation and they keep raising a Ticket with Internal manager to call me back in 72 hrs and till now no one calls me back. Apologies this been a long story and nightmare but would really appreciate if someone who had similar experience to advise how proceed with the next step

Raise a formal complaint. If you don’t get a satisfactory response within 8 weeks go to the FOS and/or ICO.0

I wouldn't bother ringing , Keep all contact via Email Or Letter (Recorded) . Try and find the correct department for dealing with credit disputes, an email to the CEO might also speed things along. Also, if applying for a mortgage, Once this dispute is sorted get Equifax to remove the Notice of Correction. A NOC can have a worse effect than a Default. My recent dealings with Virgin, i did the above. Virgin sorted it within 7 days ! but took 3 weeks to get the NOC removed. VM didnt even bother to reply to the NOC.0

Why NOC has a bad effect at all? I don't understand it.
