Aldermore is a stand-out - for all the wrong reasons

Just a quick update. I know you're all eager to follow this(!)
I've received a cheque for £50. While not covering the 90 days interest that was withheld, it was instead offered by Aldermore "in light of inaccurate information provided [to me] and any inconvenience caused".
An earlier letter from Aldermore contained a false statement that they discovered upon re-examining the correspondence with me. They seemed to think it was serious enough to warrant a fairly significant apology. Normally, sums like £5 or £10 are given as goodwill gestures by customer relations departments.
Glad you all enjoyed this thread so much!0
